It appears Spencer's has a wonderful policy where they will not actually assist any Shoppers or let people comfortably browse the stores but will corner and confront people accusing them of stealing items that do not exist

Normally I love shopping here, I can always find something for everyone. But this was the second time they forgot to take the tag off something I bought. These are inked tags that, when tampered with, explode all over the shirt/pants you bought. I live over an hour away, so no, im not going to just drive back to have it removed. Nor is it my job to remind the cashier to do it. However, I guess I will have to start. 🤨

I had a funny experience here with my son fairly recently. We always go in to Spencers for t shirts when we’re at the mall. We don’t venture past the t shirt walls, but would possibly consider doing so if it wasn’t so overcrowded feeling in the store. Other than the space issue, the shirt selection is good and I can never pass up a buy 4 get 1 free sale. We went in around the holidays and got some shirts. When we got to the counter the person waiting on us made a joke about judging our taste in music based on what t shirts we were buying. My son and I are both Nirvana fans and had each gotten a new shirt. Our cashier commented “ah Nirvana…name 3 songs” I came up with some of the lesser known titles I knew to prove that I wasn’t a poser. This seemed to satisfy and the transaction went smoothly. On our way out our amateur band critic of a Spencer’s associate commented in seeming approval of the “Kendrick Lamar” hoodie my son was wearing. We didn’t have the heart to tell them that it was actually Jimi Hendrix’s pic on the front hahahaha

When we arrived it was about 20 minutes to close and very few customers. We were able to look at things that we wanted for the most part grabbed a few things and was asked if we were ready to cash out I told the clerk there was something in the jewelry spinner I wanted to get they said hang on looks at another clerk said I don't have keys to US and walks away the other clerk was clearly busy with another person so we decided to cash out with the few items we had walked to the same clerk at the register said never mind about the case we will just get what we have and they walked to the other clerk and stood there with her without cashing us out. Ended up leaving what we chose on the counter and left with nothing. Clerks were not very helpful or communicative with any situation we are normally very understanding people but this was just a complete joke of a situation.

Every single time I come in this store it feels like I have to beg for assistance. The workers are always sitting around the registers talking, will look at me and notice I'm trying to get their attention, keep talking until they're finished and then stare at me and wait for me to ask for assistance. They don't even ask if I need something. I feel like an annoyance to them if I'd like something out of the case or down from the wall.
