Fredericksen Hardware & Paint

Buen servicio

Surprisingly well stocked store in the tradition of SF hardware stores. A little bit of almost everything, with a nice fastener, paint, and home goods section that surpass similar places in my opinion. Friendly staff too, who will answer wacky home improvement questions (I heard a few) with no trouble. Tried to take a huge number of photos here to give viewers a proper lay of the land. Small note: seeing AI art crop up in the gift cards section was a bit depressing. Creativity slowly fading in yet another industry.

Robert and Steve were extremely helpful assisting me with coloring matching paints we purchased here 6 years ago. They voluntarily went through receipts in boxes for that timeframe trying to locate our exact order. Well done boys! The attention to detail and desire to get the job done right is highly appreciated. Cheers!

Just got a couple of sets of keys made on Sunday. Excellent fast service. While they were cutting the keys and had a chance to look around, first very helpful and knowledgeable staff, secondly I was amazed at the variety of goods offered. Everything from paint sets for the kids to plumbing supplies. A little hard to park around there but if you live in the Marina an easy walk. Overall highly recommended.

Very efficient, friendly, and professional. Great place to get your keys copied.

I had a deeply disappointing experience, similar to what others have described. One female staff member was blatantly rude and dismissive. When I politely said ‘Excuse me,’ she deliberately walked away, pretending not to understand. Instead of offering assistance, she attempted to call for help from someone else. The overall attitude was not only unprofessional but also gave the impression of racial bias, which made the experience all the more upsetting. Fortunately, another staff member did eventually offer help, but this only highlighted how unfortunate and unacceptable the initial behavior was.

Our go-to place. A bit more expensive than your typical 'home depot', but way better to support the small business. They have a huge selection of items, niche items too, super helpful employees, and we always find more to purchase than we expected to buy originally ha! We're returning happy customers.
